Be Part of the Change
Maternal and neonatal outcomes across the U.S. remain deeply concerning, with disproportionately poor results for Black women and women of color. At the same time, a growing shortage of obstetrical providers—especially in underserved and southern regions—limits access to essential care.
Loyola’s Nurse-Midwifery Program is helping address this gap by preparing more Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) to expand access to high-quality, equitable care for women and families.
The need for advanced practice nurses extends far beyond midwifery. Critical shortages also exist in roles such as Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse, and nurse executive leadership—each essential to strengthening healthcare systems and improving outcomes across diverse populations.
