Communicating Charism: Educating for Leadership and Social Media Capacity in Communities of Women Religious (2014–2017)
The Loyola Institute for Ministry has completed “Communicating Charism,” a grant-funded project supported by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The initiative strengthened the capacity of seven communities of women religious across the United States, Africa, and Asia by expanding their leadership, communication, and resource development. It did so by (a) providing members and their associates with graduate-level education integrating leadership, theology, and communication, and (b) producing high-quality video resources to help them share their congregations’ charisms and ministries in effective, culturally appropriate ways.
Grounded in the conviction that communication lies at the heart of the Christian faith, the project was shaped by the belief that God communicates God’s very self in Jesus, continues to do so through the Holy Spirit, and calls the faithful to share in this mission within the Church and the world today.
